Fed up with paying through the nose for coloured horseradish when you think that you are buying 100% actual Wasabi (Wasabia japonica).
A number of people who grow true Wasabia japonica (the correct name for the plant called Japanese Wasabi) decided that the public had been mislead for long enough.
To that end they decided to form the World Wasabi Council to act as an Independent Certifier for Wasabi products.
In the pages of this website you will find information on members of the World Wasabi Council and the certified products that they produce.
If you are a Wasabi grower or aspiring grower then you are also encouraged to look at our Members page and join us.
If you want to ensure that you eat the 100% true Wasabi (and not the coloured Horseradish) then you need to look for products that display the Certification logo issued by the World Wasabi Council.
